They choose their clients very carefully, as they will put their own job and reputation at risk if they recommend a bad track. They will only work for someone if they believe in what the client is doing and sees a future in them. It is crucial for a plugger to have a lot of contacts with radio stations, DJ's, producers, music and playlist programmers. Without those contacts he will be as useless as the client.
