Record companies Record companies are the funding behind the music industry. They sign musicians and pay for, for example, recording, which helps an artist get a successful career in music. They make their money by selling the artist his records. But as this money is a loan it has to be paid back, whether you will make money out of this deal or not. As the artist you will get 20% of all the money you make. the 80% that belongs to the label is not the money for the loan. - Joint Venture Deal Here, the label only pays for making the record. As the artist you will get 50% of the money you make, but only after all the costs for making the record are covered. - Distribution Deal The artist and his team have to take care of, and pay for recording, promotion, marketin...
GIG REVIEW: CHLOE GIACOMETTI Vocals/guitar: Chloé Giacometti Sax: Clement Duchene Sound Engineer: Salvador Venue: Notting Hill Arts Club Chloé is a singer/songwriter from Dublin who has moved to London to focus on her career as a musician. Her EP 'Tiny Little Fleas', that has only been released recently, seems to be a success so far. Personally I am really looking forward to this gig. Chloé is a good friend of mine, but apart from that a really hard worker and a great artist. The room was quite small, but as it was only two people on stage, the size was perfect for keeping a nice connection between the audience and the performers. There was a warm atmosphere, but I did not like the fact that there were no places to sit. The entry was 3 pounds, an affordable price for a P...
Ramsgate gig 09/06/15 the Major Music Project was given to us just before spring break. Olly did point out that, just because you got assigned a role, didn't mean that you had to do it completely on your own. People still had to help one another but it meant that you had to keep all the information together ROLES AND ASSIGNED PEOPLE: - Make an Equipment list for on the day of departure to make sure that all the equipment we needed was taken to Ramsgate and, more importantly, back to the college. This was done after confirming the tech spec with Alijah. - Er...
